Social Suicide: American Edition

As I indulge myself in the blissful demeanor of today's television entertainment I always find it hard to hold my tongue in the viewing prescience of culture humorist like Daniel Tosh, of Tosh.O, or of any one of these American Reality shows that currently flock the networks. At first it seemed too easy to criticize or nitpick at the television shows that infest the masses of today and at the same time, as cliche as it may be, it seemed inevitable to not mention shows such as Here Comes Honey Boo Boo or housewives of whatever in this mixing pot of schmuck. I see America, and I see our nation being depicted into what is seen on television today. As we watch America crumble through a distant third-introspective viewing tube we've become ignorant to what's happening today in our society. Through time our cultural aspects change and this includes what we allow to be publicly seen and addressed through social media and forms of networking. We have so many outlets today to escape the complications of life and it's become apparent that we enjoy venting our emotions through social media or giving our own selves gratitude through seeing others behave as idiots on national television. As an avid follower of formal literature I commit to taking this garbage off national television and in due time I believe that this will be the case. In the meantime I suggest that we all hide under a rock until the inevitable occurrence that James Cameron does in fact come back to raise the bar.

The Government's Curriculum: Dictator of Our Future

This is a continuation to my prior post stating on how today's readers are accrediting stale cut-and-dry introductory works of fiction as literature of top publications and how the current curriculum is just recycling these pieces into the minds of young aspiring students. Going into further detail you obtain a better introspective on why you see these same works as top accredited books throughout time, both in classrooms and anywhere in your local bookstore. It's almost like a pattern, most of today's readers have been reading avidly since maybe their sophomore or junior years of high school. The reason we aren't seeing these more contemplative and higher level literary forms of writing isn't because they're boring or too complex for students and readers to understand, but because it isn't introduced into the minds of students in their most crucial time, high school. I oppose the idea that students today would not be able to comprehend literary masters like Dante, or Walt Whitman, or even Shakespeare; had any works from these poets been introduced to me in my earlier years I think I'd be a better reader and duly had I also been a better writer. If you don't present these kind of intuitive writings into the minds of students how do you expect them to be able to be such well-off learners and thinkers? The level which students are able to comprehend these kinds of literature isn't limited to the student's individual knowledge but more so on their impression of formal literature and the depth of that teacher's confidence in teaching it to the students while also understanding it. If the curriculum continues to exact the same books that are solely driven by cultural ideas of right and wrong how much further until these same ideas begin to dictate the mindset and lifestyle of our younger generation?

Curriculum to Blame for or OBAMA?!

 While I've been trying to confine myself to regular posting times that's fallen flat due to my busy weekend. Regardless of that I suppose I'll end the night off and just put something else out on my blog before going to sleep to work on something more credible for next post while getting ready to venture into another week.. Now as I've been entering the world of blogging and going to explore others blogs myself I have to say one thing. Reading The Great Gatsby doesn't make you anymore educated than the personals that you attend your high school days out with.. "Now Zorak, oh so prestigious ruler and conqueror, you can't say that!" Bloody hell I'm not discrediting the actual work nor am I saying that I could write anything better, because I can't. The only thing I have to say in this "rant" is that if your most credible read comes from a high school summer reading program or was enforced to be read through the school's curriculum. Shut your damn mouth with your oh so "deep" and "mature" thought processes scribbled onto a piece of paper. Once again, this is not to target anyone or to discredit any personal or publicized work of litterateurs. If you ever have any kind of SHORT story, poem, or haiku I'm more than interested in reading it and you can hit me up on my email. All I'm getting at is this, reading Lord of the Flies, I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings, Uncle Tom's Cabin, The Giver, Scarlet Letter, To Kill A Mockingbird, Fahrenheit 451, etc... Doesn't make you any greater of a writer or deep thinker. These are the stepping stones into more complicated reads that are introduced to high schools for the sole purpose of their themes being so easy to discuss and agree on upon a classroom of 30 or so kids. I know I missed some of those common high school reads but yeah, tell me what you're reading or what your favorite book was or even to just let me know what your standing is on these kinds of books. The Confusing: Eternity

Throughout history their has always been belief of some kind of entity or higher being that exists in our life for the sole purpose of the offering of something eternal, of course one could only attain this eternity in preceding to conform to this religion or whatsoever it may be. In the precedence of reaching a "rank" or religious spiritual level with such gods or deities you are to be granted certain riches that would be obtained to you once you've "passed over". Riches that are mentioned in some religions are in concordance to eternal prosperity, peace, wisdom, and of course eternal power. To be an eternal ruler, is that not achievable just by nature? As the Queens of nations sit on their throne is that not gained by inheritance? Is it that something as controversial and introspective as eternity be so hard to attain
even in mortal form?
According to Websters the definition of Eternity is; [infinite or unending time. A state that comes after death and never ends ]. One's name is all that is unjustifiably yours, One can not alter nor take it from you as you are born of this world you are given the status and rights of your ancestors. To criticize or to blemish one's name then meant all. Eternity is granted from religious heralding to powerful gods, As a follower of religion you are child to that divinity and to conform to any other name would be blasphemous on one's own religion and name.
